Love Your Face Watercolor Card

image

I created this card using the new Mr. Hueys watercolor palette that I have for sale in my store. I also used one of my laser cut Chevron masks that I now decided to recreate into a larger background stencil to make this technique easier. Overall,  I like this card, but I can see how it could be improved by using a background stencil rather than a border mask like I was using. I used the mask as a stamp to create an emboss resist on the sides. Watercolors are a lot of fun and are very freeing to use.

Men’s Birthday Card – Wilderness Adventure

Image

This is the card that I am making for my Fiance for his 27th Birthday . He has more than been hinting lately that he wants to go camping. I love camping, but it’s just a schedule issue why we haven’t gone lately. You see, a person needs free time to go camping and that is something I have none of lately! I did, however, make sure to put aside a little bit of time to make him a Birthday Card. This card is not yet finished. I need to do the inside, but I am just to excited to wait to share it! The inside is going to say “let’s go on an adventure”. The adventure being camping. The weekend of his Birthday, I have nothing that I need to do because I am going to make sure to get it done during the week. So , when he opens the card, I will tell him we can leave that weekend if he wants to. I will share the card again when it’s completed, but I just had to show it so far! By the way, the tree that I used is actually the Love Hearts Tree that I made. I just snapped off a few branches to make it more manly. Pretty cool, huh? If you want to purchase the tree, just click right here. It’s $4.95 and made of THICK 1/8″ wood , but the branches snap off easily since they are a thin cut. It adds a ton of dimension. I used a wood-grain stamp and inked the edges to make it look like it belongs.  The tree is actually pretty large, but this card is huge so it kind of dwarfs the largeness of the tree. I will post the exact dimensions when it is finished, but I believe it’s at least 8″ wide. That’s it for now. Thank you for peeking!

12 tags of 2014 March Tag #2

12 tags of 2014 March Tag #2

Hey everyone! After I made my March Tag I saw a few ways that I could improve upon it. There’s still some things about my original tag that I like better than this one. They are both nice in their own ways. I definitely like the acetate butterfly colored with alcohol markers WAY better than the plain cardstock butterfly. I also like how I laid down the jute on this card better as well. Again, I used the distress marker spritzer and since the gradient was not an after thought this time, it came out much better. If you want to buy the distress marker spritzer, just click on the photo and it will link you to my ebay store . I hope you like it!

12 Tags of 2014- March

12 Tags of 2014- March

Here is my tag for March. I might start trying to play along with the 12 tags of 2014, but I am not sure that I will have enough time. Anyways, I used the awesome new Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer with my Heidi Swapp Honeycomb stencil. The gradient was an after thought, so that is why it doesn’t look that great. I plan on re-doing this tag better tomorrow. I just created it as I went along and I think it came out pretty decent for not being pre-planned!

The New “Must Have” Crafting Tool

Have you seen the Distress Marker Spritzer that Tim Holtz came out with?!

Here’s a video below:

It’s basically a re-release of an old tool that has been around in crafting for a while. It makes sense to re-release it being that stencils are so “in” right now. I think it is so awesome! You can create an airbrush effect with ANY of your markers! I thought they were so cool that I had to get one for myself and carry them in my store 🙂 . MSRP is $15.00 , but I have them at 10% off right now, so they are $13.50 for a new release item. I also got many other new CHA 2014 Ranger products listed at my eBay store. Check it out here, http://stores.ebay.com/Intoxicating-Arts . Just click on the category you want on the left side of the screen.
