We’re Closing the Store – HUGE Discounts!

Yes, that is right. We’ve decided with how hectic our lives our right now that we’ll be closing the store. I am going to continue to sell my stencils and texture tools, but the resale part of the store is going to be closing.

Intoxicating Arts will transform into a place where you can get cardmaking video tutorials, buy stencils, learn techniques on blog posts, and I may occasionally post things for sale if I get a special buy on them. In example, last year I got MINC Mini machines on a special buy so I got some and stopped selling them when I sold out.

To be completely honest, my goal was to sell high quality crafting supplies at a super competitive price. That is exactly what I did but there’s very little money in that ( in fact, I’ve made no money because I’ve invested so much in this business). There was a time when the store was booming but I just don’t have the time (Or I guess don’t want to sacrifice crafty and mommy time) to keep it up to get it where it needs to be in order to be profitable.

I’m saddened but excited at the same time. Once I have this excess inventory gone ,not only will I have an entire room freed up in my house, but I will have more creative freedom and I hope to expand my laser cut lines and make more videos. It’s where my heart wants me to be.

OK, so here’s the deal! We already have all of our items at 15-23& off. That’s a great deal as always, but we are trying to move some product here so we have increased the discounts depending on how much you buy. These discounts are ON TOP OF the already discounted prices. Remember, we have $5.00 flat rate shipping on all orders over $40.00.

Here are the promos that we have going right now:

EXTRA 5% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 2 OR MORE OF ANYTHING (MIX AND MATCH!)

EXTRA 10% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 4 OR MORE OF ANYTHING (MIX AND MATCH!)

EXTRA 15% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 5 OR MORE OF ANYTHING (MIX AND MATCH!)

EXTRA 20% OFF WHEN YOU BUY 6 OR MORE OF ANYTHING (MIX AND MATCH!)

+ FREE 2 DAY SHIPPING ON ORDERS OVER $75.00

NO COUPON CODE REQUIRED

So, the more you buy, the more you save. This applies to every item in our store. We have some brand new items that are super hot right now and you can get this discount on those items. We even have some new Ranger/ Tim Holtz products coming and we’ll be discounting those when they come in.

You Are My Sunshine Card

I was searching through the Silhouette Library looking for a good file to make a card with. When I found the “You are my Sunshine” sentiment I just knew I had to use it.

sunshine

Using the feature in Silhouette Studio that creates an outline of the letters made it so much easier to get the letters straight. All I had to do was adhere them to the outline and then adhere the outlines to the card. This large sentiment is the main focus of the card so just a few embellishments were needed.

Here’s a clickable list of supplies I used:

Silhouette Cameo 2
Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastel
(for blue background)
Luster Mica Powder in a Spray Bottle (for background)
Tim Holtz Stamp from Psychedelic Grunge (sun rays)
Versamark Ink
Gold Embossing Powder
Sequins (from the $1 store!) You can also get some lovely sequins here.
Rhinestones
Glitter Paper
ATG Tape Adhesive Gun
Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen (used on sentiment)
Multi Medium Matte (to adhere the sequins)

Here’s a close up where you can kind of see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen. It’s a lot more sparkly in person.

This card came together quickly and easily. I can’t want to see what I can make next with my Silhouette Cameo 2!

We’re Expecting a Baby Girl Card #2

Here’s the second card I made to announce to family in other states that we’re having our first baby! This card came so naturally to me. I find that I have the most fun making card with spray inks and using my fingers. If it leaves my hands messy then I probably had that much more fun making it!

Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Cardstock Stencil made using Amperzand Font on Silhouette Cameo 2  traced with Fude Ball Pen

Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Alizarin Crimson and Ultramarine Blue

Luster Mica Spray Mist ( I stopped selling these due to the time they take to make. I still have the powders and bottles available if you are interested. I can post them for sale.)

Floral Frame Stencil used with Distress Paint in Spun Sugar , Gel Medium mixed with Mica Powder, and Silks Acrylics. (apply using a palette knife)

Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil used with Inka Gold in Champagne. (rub with your finger. Such a fun effect!)

I thoroughly enjoy making mixed media cards. I hope you give this one a try! Remember, subscribe to us on YouTube so you can get notified when the video for this card goes live!

Fairy Kisses Birthday Card w/ Avery Elle Stamps

This card took me a while to do but it was a lot of fun! Avery Elle has a new stamp set out called Pixie Dust and it’s just adorable!

Here’s the card:

20160107_215540

She’s just so cute! This card did take a while and it’s PACKED with techniques. In order to not make this blog post monumentally long, I am going to to a quick run down of what was done.

  1. Stamp the fairy girl with her wand on 140lb watercolor paper using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Let it dry.
  2. Cover the fairy girl with liquid frisket to mask her off from the background spraying. Let it dry.
  3. Mix Luster Mica Powder in Hawaiian Orchid and Deep Sea Dive , or Blue Ice, in a Fine Mist Spray bottle. Spray the background keeping some of each color more concentrated in the top or bottom. Dry with heat tool.
  4. Remove Liquid Frisket with included remover and color fairy girl using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Water Brush .
  5. Stamp stars from the Pixie Dust Stamp set on the top half of the card using Versamark Ink and cover with Embossing Powder Sticky. Heat until it changes clear then cover with glitter.
  6. Spell out “Fairy Kisses” in Silhouette Studio using Blessed Day Font from http://www.urbanfonts.com . Weld the letters together and cut it out using your Silhouette Cameo 2 .
  7. Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of paper that you have inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Also ink up the Fairy Kisses sentiment with this ink.
  8. Run “Fairy Kisses” through a Xyron Creative Station with sticker adhesive installed to turn this intricate die cut into a easy to place sticker.
  9.  Adhere other sentiment using a tape runner or liquid glue.
  10. Revel in the beauty of your card! You’re done!

Christmas Shaker Window Card

I’ve had the idea for this card in my head for a long time and I am so glad I finally got it done. It came out exactly how I was hoping! (Mom, if you are reading this, look away! This is YOUR card!)

The idea came to me when I was browsing Simon Says Stamp looking for some Christmas supplies so I could make a purchase and snatch up my Free Birthday Stamp Set. That was back in August and I finally got around to making it. Anyways, I ran across this Riley and Co. stamp1_314955_zm

and I knew I had to have it, but I needed a perfect co-stamp for it to work great for my purposes. So, I searched some more and I found this Penny Black Stamp

1_104541_zm

Once I found that stamp an even better idea came in my head and knew I would need to buy these…

1_314373_zm

glass seed beads so I could make a shaker card! Not just any shaker card, but a shaker window card. I wanted you to only see her sweet little face making her case to Santa about her gift-worthiness. Then you open the card to see the rest of the stamped image and I would stamp the rest of the sentiment on the inside.

So, here’s the end product:

I’m super happy with how this card came out! It took me about an hour and a half to complete it. Other products I used to complete the card were:

• Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow Paper

Tim Holtz Distress Markers

•Blue Sequins from the $1 store ( Great place to stock up on shaker card supplies!)

Holiday Flourishes Stamp Set by The Ton

• Clear Acetate – I use some transparency film I purchased from e-bay

• Loads and Loads of Foam Tape – which I also buy from the $1 store. It’s super thin though, so I have to do 3 layers.

I also filmed this card and I will add the video to this blog post once I am done editing it. Thank you for stopping by!
