Hi everyone! I just made this card last night for my Mom’s Birthday. Like most times, I sat down only with an idea of which products I wanted to use and a slight idea of what I wanted to do. I had no idea the card would come out looking like this, but I am pretty happy with it!
I started by spraying the background with Hawaiian Shores Luster Spray Mist to give it a nice creamy color. Then I used my Tim Holtz Dot Fade Layering Stencil with Hawaiian Orchid. Then I centrally sprayed Deep Sea Dive and used my heat tool to move it around a little bit . After that dried, I sprayed Shallow Waters using the same technique. Next, I grabbed my Stars Stencil ($1.99 in Mylar, $0.75 in Oil Board) and added Dusty Concord Distress Ink using a blending sponge. The cupcake stamp is from Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints and I’ve been dying to use it! I decided to keep that simple since there’s so much going on in the background and a ton of shimmer! The “happy birthday!” stamp is from one of The Paper Studio’s phrases sets that I got from Hobby Lobby. I like that they’re photopolymer and individual words. I did mess up the spacing just a little bit though. Lastly, I added a few gemstones. These were in a $1.00 pack from Joann’s. I kept the inside of the card super simple and just sprayed a few spritzes of Hawaiian Orchid, Deep Sea Dive, and Shallow Waters. I still need to write a message on the inside.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my card. I love it when I “have” to make a card because sometimes I find myself avoiding my craft room and feeling uninspired. It seems like the moment I make myself go in there I realize all the awesome things that I have to play with and I get in the mood to create !! 🙂
Just sharing pictures of my mother’s day card that I made for my step mom. She will be out of town so I had to make sure to get it done so my dad can give it to her for me. I used the beautiful Authentique Anchored line for the papers on this card. The wood anchor and chain are in my store!
This is the card that I am making for my Fiance for his 27th Birthday . He has more than been hinting lately that he wants to go camping. I love camping, but it’s just a schedule issue why we haven’t gone lately. You see, a person needs free time to go camping and that is something I have none of lately! I did, however, make sure to put aside a little bit of time to make him a Birthday Card. This card is not yet finished. I need to do the inside, but I am just to excited to wait to share it! The inside is going to say “let’s go on an adventure”. The adventure being camping. The weekend of his Birthday, I have nothing that I need to do because I am going to make sure to get it done during the week. So , when he opens the card, I will tell him we can leave that weekend if he wants to. I will share the card again when it’s completed, but I just had to show it so far! By the way, the tree that I used is actually the Love Hearts Tree that I made. I just snapped off a few branches to make it more manly. Pretty cool, huh? If you want to purchase the tree, just click right here. It’s $4.95 and made of THICK 1/8″ wood , but the branches snap off easily since they are a thin cut. It adds a ton of dimension. I used a wood-grain stamp and inked the edges to make it look like it belongs. The tree is actually pretty large, but this card is huge so it kind of dwarfs the largeness of the tree. I will post the exact dimensions when it is finished, but I believe it’s at least 8″ wide. That’s it for now. Thank you for peeking!
These laser cuts were made to coordinate well with the new Botanical Tea collection by Graphic 45 . They are only $1.89 for all six and range in size from 1-1/2 to 2″ tall. Made of MDF wood. To buy, just click on the picture and it will take you to the e-bay listing. Have a great day!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some more laser cuts that are posted for sale. These are made of MDF wood and they are 1/8″ thick. The wood means that there will be no more black char to deal with or worry about ruining a light colored project. I plan on making more shabby chic type cuts pretty soon. I hope you like them! Want to buy? Just click the picture and it will take you to E-Bay!
Hey everyone! I thought I would share today’s update. We are testing out how the laser likes thicker chipboard and how thin I can go on the lines. This design need work because there were some thin parts that made it week.
