We’re Expecting a Baby Girl Card #2

Here’s the second card I made to announce to family in other states that we’re having our first baby! This card came so naturally to me. I find that I have the most fun making card with spray inks and using my fingers. If it leaves my hands messy then I probably had that much more fun making it!

Here’s a list of the supplies I used:

Cardstock Stencil made using Amperzand Font on Silhouette Cameo 2  traced with Fude Ball Pen

Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Alizarin Crimson and Ultramarine Blue

Luster Mica Spray Mist ( I stopped selling these due to the time they take to make. I still have the powders and bottles available if you are interested. I can post them for sale.)

Floral Frame Stencil used with Distress Paint in Spun Sugar , Gel Medium mixed with Mica Powder, and Silks Acrylics. (apply using a palette knife)

Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil used with Inka Gold in Champagne. (rub with your finger. Such a fun effect!)

I thoroughly enjoy making mixed media cards. I hope you give this one a try! Remember, subscribe to us on YouTube so you can get notified when the video for this card goes live!

Many of these products can be purchased at Simon Says Stamp as well as our e-bay store.

New Texture Tools 5 pack is now available!

Intoxicating Arts is now offering Texture Tools in a 5 pack! Click the picture to buy for $5.49!

This set of 5 plastic texture tools work wonderfully with heavy bodied acrylic paints, texture paste, modeling paste, and gel mediums. Just lay down your medium and drag the texture tool through it to get interesting textures. This set includes 4 different textures and one flat tool that can be used in a wissping motion to create frosting like effects or even used as a palette knife for stencils.

Each texture tool has a stencil in the center that coordinates with the texture that it creates. Made of .040″ thick flexible plastic. Your set will come with a blue liner that can be removed before use. This blue liner protects the plastic from scratches and burn marks from the laser cutting process.

These texture tools have a comfortable ergonomic feel. The texture coverage width is 2-13/16″.

Clean immediately after use with soap and water or a baby wipe. Chemical Resistant. Keep away from extreme heat.

Charms & Findings are back on the site!

That’s right….Charms and Findings are back on the website. When we switched websites a while back we never put these beauties back on there until now! Currently there are 10 different listings for charms and findings, but we have quite a bit more that will be listed in the coming weeks.

Charms are a great way to add a little movement to mini albums, altered art, and cards.  Our low prices and small purchase quantity also make it inexpensive and un-intimidating to make your own charm pieces!

Also, just a quick note, we have NEW RANGER PRODUCTS INBOUND!! Wahoo! I am so excited to see the new dye ink pads and especially their new clear texture pastes!

Here’s a few of my favorite pieces that are up for sale on the website RIGHT NOW!

Our spray mists come in a fine mist spray bottle with a mixing ball. All you need to do is swirl it around a few times before spraying and the mixing ball does all the work for you. If you have used other spray mists before, you know that the mica can get stuck and it takes some rigorous shaking to get it loose. That is why I knew our sprays needed a mixing ball. It makes it so easy to mix!

I have been spraying these bottles and testing them for months now and I have not had any clogging issues. Clogging is another common problem with these spray mists. I use finely milled mica powders along with a fine-mist sprayer that was chosen after testing others that had failed. I wanted to ensure there would be no clogging.

Each label has been sprayed with the same Luster color that’s in your bottle. This makes it easy to know exactly what the color will look like on white paper by having a visual swatch right in front of you. Many times the color in the bottle or on a printed label is not what it actually looks like on white paper. We have taken the extra effort to provide you with a real swatch on the bottle. Many of the Luster colors are two-toned and will look very different on black or dark papers. For instance, Hawaiian Orchid looks very pink on white but it looks more purple on black.

Each bottle is packed full of beautiful and lustrous shimmer. Spray on cardstock, canvas, wood, and any other porous surface! Luster sprays are perfect for use with stencils too.

We only use FD&C (Food, Drug, and Cosmetic) and D&C (Drug and Cosmetic) safe ingredients. By purchasing Luster Mica Spray Mists you are also supporting manufacturing in the United States! Our sprays are hand-made in small batches which ensures great quality control. All bottles come with a heat shrink seal to prevent spills and shipment. It’s also just so satisfactory to pull of that seal off a brand new item, isn’t it?!

As if all of the above wasn’t great enough, these spray mists are super affordable! The 2 ounce bottle is $4.89 and the 4 ounce bottle is a real bargain at only $7.69! There will be discounts for buying the whole set too.

If you have any questions about our spray mists that have not been answered in this blog post, please feel free to send me an e-mail at intoxicatingarts@gmail.com and I will be happy to answer your questions!
