SSS July 2016 Card Kit Card #1

Today I’m sharing the first of 3 birthday cards that I have already made using this card kit. It tried to stick to mostly what was included in the kit and use only a little bit of my supplies I already had on hand.

Here’s the card: 20160625_171640

This was the quickest of all of the cards I made and I just made it up as I went along. I started with one of the beautiful patterned papers from the kit and ink blending the border and the flowers using a Judikins Color Duster. I used various yellow inks including the one hybrid ink that was in the kit along with some distress ink.

The sentiments that came in the Handwritten Floral Greetings Stamp Set were all nice but I specifically needed Birthday Cards so I used my stamp from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamp set. I embossed that on some black cardstock using versamark and white embossing powder. Don’t forget to run an anti static tool over the paper before embossing!

I layered that on top of some vellum and taped it down to the card front. I added some glass domes to the top left corner to finish it off. Glass domes are also sold by Pretty Pink Posh under the name Clear Droplets. Mine are just a little larger than theirs. I mounted the card front onto Simon Says Stamp Slate Cardstock that I turned into a card base by cutting it at 5.5″ and scoring it at 4.25″. If you haven’t used Simon Says Stamp Cardsstock before, I definitely recommend you give it a try. I was super happy with how heavy weight it was and it made me realize I’ve been making some very “light” card bases. It made it feel much nicer.

That’s it for today! I will be back really soon with another birthday card I made using this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. Thank you for stopping by!

Lawn Fawn Mom + Me Mother’s Day Card

Here’s a card I made last night for my Mom. This card took me about 35 minutes which is a good time frame in my opinion. There’s times that a card can take me over an hour to complete. This one hit that sweet spot where there’s still coloring and detail but it didn’t take me an astronomical amount of time to complete. A list of supplies will be listed below the pictures.

Hi Everyone! It sure has been a while since I have posted. Well, that’s because I’m pregnant! I am actually 22 weeks pregnant today. I had horrible nausea for the first 20 weeks and am on medication for it. I am finally feeling like myself again and got some crafty time in. (yay!)

Here’s one of the cards I made to announce to family in other states that I’m going to be having a baby!

Color Burst Birthday Card

Here’s the card I made for my Sister’s recent Birthday. This was surprisingly quick to make and I think it looks pretty nice! I’m still on a bit of a Color Burst kick. We actually sell them in our store now! You can see them HERE.

The sentiment stamp is one that I found at a Rubber Stamp Convention and it’s by Rubbernecker. I love how affordable their stamps are and they have some very clever sayings as well. Hopefully I will use some of the other ones I got soon! Click here to buy this stamp from Rubbernecker for just $3.90! The stars in the background were individual star stamps that I rounded up from multiple Lawn Fawn stamp sets. I repeatedly stamped them, rotating the acrylic block to get variation. Everything was embossed with white embossing powder and then I let my Color Burst do the rest of the magic!

I’d love to redo this same card and figure out how to make the color bursts create a galaxy! That would be super awesome!

Lawn Fawn Christmas Card

I made another Lawn Fawn card last night! I’ll admit that it looks a little bare as far as the background goes. I may have to pull one of my Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Stamp Set from stock so I can white emboss some snow on there!

20151104_215459 20151104_215507

For the background, I laid down some water and used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals for the sky and Luster Mica Spray Mist for the ground. The dried that and then added some deeper and darker color using Derwent Inktense Blocks. Inktense blocks are permanent when dry so keep that in mind when you are using them.

I colored my images from the Toboggan Together, Baaah Humbug, and Snow Day using the Ergosoft Colored Pencils just like I did in my last post and blended using gamsol and blending stumps.

The presents were colored using Inka Gold for some fun metallic shimmer.

I also used some of the Let’s Bokeh in the Snow Paper from Lawn Fawn in the background.
