I will try to continue making more and let you know when I have a bundle of them ready. The best selling stencils are the Pretty Face and Pretty Lady stencil. these are very helpful for adding a face to your art journal. I favor background stencils to use with my cards. If there’s something you are looking for, let me know and I might be able to design it!

To buy a stencil just click on the picture below and it will take you to the auction. To see all of them on one page, just click here!

What craft supplies do you buy the most?

I need your help. I am expanding our inventory further and I need to know what YOU want! I know that I personally tend to spend more on tools than disposable items such as charms and embellishments. I also buy a ton of inks and paints so I can have a large color palette to choose from. So, you tell me, what do you buy the most?

Tons of New Stencils!

Over the course of the past few weeks Intoxicating Arts has released TWELVE new stencils. They are perfect for A2 sized cards, but the designs make them wonderful for art journaling. Especially if you like the Dyan Reaveley style of funky backgrounds. All of our stencils are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ and they are laser cut from .010″ thick laserpro plastic. That’s thicker than the industry standard of 8 mil mylar. These stencils are nice and durable. They work great with texture paste, gel medium, distress inks, acrylic paint, and pretty much whatever you want to use with them. With proper cleaning and care, they will last for a very long time. Below are the pictures of the new stencils. If you want to purchase any of them just click the picture. All of our stencils are just $3.99!

New Easter Laser Cuts!

We have new Laser Cuts to celebrate Easter! The 5 new laser cuts that we have are all egg themed. This got me wondering, Where do eggs tie in to Easter anyways? From what I could find, there are actually multiple reasons. For Christians, it is supposed to represent Jesus’ emergence from the tomb and resurrection. Christian Tradition also states that Mary Magdalene visited Emperor Tiberias and gave him a red egg as a symbol of the Resurrection. The egg is a symbol of new life and has been used in festivals before Jesus’ time. It is also said that it’s inherited from the symbols of the Norse Goddess Ostara who’s symbols are the egg and the hare. Both of which represent fertility.

I think that’s enough of a history lesson for now! Below you will find pictures and pricing for the new laser cuts. I you want to purchase any of them, just click on the picture!

Floral Birthday Card for Older Sister

Another month has passed and another family member’s birthday has passed as well. I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like there is a birthday every month between my family and friends. There’s some months that I end up celebrating 2-3 birthdays!  For me, April and May are the only months that I don’t have to make cards for, but of course I could make Easter and Memorial Day cards if I wanted to. I love that it means I absolutely MUST craft to make a card . Sometimes it’s a little hard to fit it in, but I try to make an effort to make them feel special on their day.

This is the card that I made for my older sister. I used a laser cut wood piece that I had laying around and tried out my new mica powder colors on her card too! I plan on releasing these very soon, but I wanted to test/play with them a little first. The dies that I used were Spellbinders and I got the pack for $10.00 at the rubber stamp event we went to. The flower stamps were in a $0.79 pack that I got from my LSS. Can you believe I found a red rubber cling stamp set for only $0.79!? That was a major score! I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and peacock feathers distress ink for the background. The paper was an old Prima pad that I have and I can’t remember what it was called, but I want to say Sunflower since that’s pretty much what the entire paper pad was comprised of. Here’s the card:

She really liked it and says she wants to keep it! Of course, that is pretty much the best complement, since us card makers can’t even fathom the thought of a recipient throwing away our crafty gift that took us hours to make and we even were nice enough to use our special secret-stash-hoard items on. Yeah, you know what I mean! I hope you like the card as much as she did. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

A Spooktacular Halloween Card

Hey everyone! I was able to get some crafty time in yesterday (wahoo!). I had so much fun making this card.

20141012_223847

I started off the background using only inks from the Tim Holtz Distress Mini Distress ink kits #1 and #2. < Click there to purchase for the super low price of $5.59! I blended them using foam. I started off with Mustard Seed, then Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and lastly Salty Ocean. When the blending was done, I gave the background 2 spritzes of Hawaiian Shores Luster Mica Spray Mist. Then I stamped the tree and leaves from Lawn Fawn’s Sweater Weather Stamp Set.  I used a silver metallic gel stick from Faber-Castell mixed with a little bit of water to stamp the stars at the top. The ground is a mixture of spackling and slate grey acrylic paint that was applied with a palette knife. I dried one layer a little with my heat tool (it will bubble if you heat it too much) and then applied a second layer which was then sprinkled with Martha Stewart glitter. The cute little monsters are from Lawn Fawn’s Spooktacular Stamp Set.  I colored them with watercolor pencils ( a technique I am trying to get better at!) and fussy cut them. They were applied with homemade glue dots. The beautiful sentiment on the side of the card is a chipboard laser cut by Intoxicating Arts.  These are $1.69 and come in a 2 pack with one Card Maker size and one Scrapbooking Size.  The chipboard was colored using the same silver metallic Faber-Castell Gel Stick, but this time it was mixed with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gloss Medium. I also used the gloss medium to adhere it to the card stock. I hope you enjoyed this card and if you have any questions, please let me know!
